Invoices with QR Code and ATCUD
The introduction of QR codes in tax-relevant documents
is now mandatory. In other words, to simplify the communication of the
invoices, and the determination of deductible expenses in the IRS,
all the tax-relevant documents must include the
following two elements:
QR Code
&
Unique document code (ATCUD)
According to Ordinance 195/2020, the QR Code and the
ATCUD (Unique Code of the Document) must be present in the invoices and all
fiscally relevant documents.
The QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional
bar code that can be scanned by most camera phones and will allow you to
communicate invoices without the taxpayer having to provide your taxpayer
number. That is, on a daily basis, it is no longer necessary to present the
taxpayer number (NIF Number) at the time of purchase. The printing of the code
on the invoice will allow its introduction in the E-Invoice program, after the
purchase, without needing the taxpayer number and in real-time.
ATCUD is a unique document code composed of the series
validation code and the document's sequential number within the series,
assigned by the Tax Authority.
